Step 1

Using the sleeve frill pattern piece. Attach a blank piece of paper to the hem.

Step 2

Extend the frill side seam length 12cm (or chosen desired length!). Square across to other side seam to create new hemline.

Step 3

Write across the new hemline ‘cut on fold’.

Cutting incrstructions for your new sleeve frill are ‘cut 2 on fold’.

Sewing Instruction Adjustments

Follow the original Solar sewing instructions for the shoulder seams, side seams, neckline and hem. Then follow the following steps to attach you exaggerated frill piece.

Step 1

With right sides together, fold sleeve frill in half and pin. Stitch together and press seam allowance open.

Step 2

With right sides out, fold your frill piece in half so that the raw edges meet.

Stitch a long gather stitch through both layers of open edge.

Repeat for other side.

Step 3

Pin sleeve and armhole together with right sides facing, lining up underarm side seams. Stitch around armhole. Pull through to right side. Repeat for other side.

You did it. Enjoy your new statement sleeves!
