Step 1

Draw a line across the rise of pieces 1, 2 & 3, perpendicular to the grainline of each piece. Cut pieces open along these lines.

Step 2

Place onto a new piece of paper and open (or overlap) each piece the desired amount you are wanting to add (or reduce) the rise. Make sure you are adding or reducing an even amount on each piece. Tape in place onto the new piece of paper.

Step 3

Redraw in the parts you have added (or removed) making sure all the lines are smooth.

Step 4

Place your original piece 2 over the top of your new piece 2 and transfer the notches from the original piece onto the new piece as illustrated. Make sure they are in the exact place from the top edge of the original piece.

Step 5

Get rid of any notches on this top edge of piece 2 that have been moved and only keep the ones you added in the last step. This will stop any confusion when you are placing your pocket pieces.

You’re ready to go! The pocket pieces will now fit with your new rise.
